Cracked Wax

The water colour goes into the cracks in the wax crayon drawing and make the picture look very old

Using different materials together

Draw a picture using wax crayons, making sure you cover all the paper.

When finished, crumple the drawing up into a ball. Open it up and then crumple it again. Be careful not to tear the paper.

Paint over the crumple paper with dark coloured water based paint. You can wipe off the excess paint with a wet sponge or put the drawing under a running tap. When dry, you can iron or press the paper flat between some paper.
